I must go on and on and on
To distant thoughts of happiness
To cold and lonely nights
Papers stacked a mile high
A list that never ends
Ties that have come undone
That need to be retied
Piecing everything together
Trying to place when I last cried
Remembering plates broken
Then swept away
The feet carry on to the next day
Relax for just a moment
To watch it all fall
Here comes the confidence
That make me stand tall
Fingers trace the outline
Of the solid brick
Is my mind read
Or is it just a trick
For have you ever felt the world change
As you stood stalk still
The heart beats a happy pace
And does a lover's dance
Shall I speak the words I hold
Or shall I keep it in
A kiss upon my lips
From the tender sun
My soul sings a song
That it has never sung
Author notes
Just a sample of what's in my head for the moment...

A tumble through the mind of a rhyming poet! I like both the darkness and the hopefulness -- it is so fun to peek into someone else's mind like this!
