tied together delicately
with ivory satin ribbon
and left to nestle quietly
on the bathroom shelf
memories of sun-drenched days and
warm exotic nights released by steam
caressing, like a lover's tender hand
as it whispers across our senses from
my treasured bundle of cinnamon sticks

When we attended my daughter's wedding recently, we stayed in a lovely hotel where the staff left a bundle of cinnamon sticks in the bathroom. Of course, I brought them home with me and now their amazing fragrance fills our house and is a constant reminder of such a beautiful and happy event in our lives.
