It took me eighteen years, eighteen long years..
I had grown so distant from the truth, it
was like a stranger to me. I let the enemy
take hold of my mind and ensnare me with
his devilish traps. I gave in to lust,
to anger and greed, I was never quite
satisfied. Then my Lord introduced me
to my greatest love, the one my heart so
desires, and used that awful breakup to
bring me closer to Him. After being
apart, without the burden of dating,
we've gotten closer than ever before;
our love is becoming a love that is
centered on the beautiful creator,
which is just what love is supposed to be.
God used me to transform this once evil-
based life, a life completely focused on
witchcraft and energy and horoscopes.
My love has been changed, and for the better;
our short heartache brought the chance for a new
life, a life led by Jesus, a life of
love. And I thank God everyday, for
because of these events, I have become
passionate for Him, and I will tell of
His great love and compassion, even to
those who don't want to hear it. For He is
the way, the truth and the life; even the
demons themselves acknowledge this. There is none
greater than Him and there never will be.
I thank Him for saving me from my sin,
for drawing me close to Him, that I may
never die, but have everlasting life.

Author notes

Thankful for Jesus

My life has finally become the God-centered life that I want it to be, and I have no problem with telling of his great love to everyone. My last ex was into paganism, didn't believe in God and had little to no respect for the christian faith. Because of this, I broke up with him. Because I broke up with him so that I could better walk with Jesus, I became so much closer to God.
We're very close, and he still came to church with me because he wanted me back I suppose..but after a little while, he started going to church even if I wasn't there, like if I had to sing with my school choir at another church on a Sunday morning, he would go with my dad and stepmom. After spending so much time with me and my dad, who is an amazing, evangelical, God-fearing man, he was eventually convinced that God exists, and he now believes full-heartedly that Jesus did die on the cross for his sins and rose three days later, and he can now consider himself a christian, despite the fact that many of his friends are disgusted by the fact. I thank God for that miraculous transformation, and for bringing me so close to HIM.
AND NOW MATT AND I ARE MARRIED!!

    That is amazing, the poem and the author's notes. I'm so happy for your friend who's had such a great turn in his life -- from paganism and disbelief to trust in God. Wow.
