I am thankful for so much,
It's hard to choose even a few things.
I'm happy my ferret's still here,
With the disease that she has.
I am happy my puppy hasn't gotten in too much trouble,
Though that must be hard for him.
I'm thankful my hermit crabs are healthy,
Changing shells and growing each day.
I'm thankful my Angel is still kicking,
Although parakeets only live a few years,
And she's already about 2 1/2.
I'm happy my plants are growing,
And they're not too cold in my room,
Still blooming in November.
I'm thankful I'm still in touch with Dad,
Though he lives two states away,
And I haven't seen him in a long time.
I'm thankful the snow hasn't come yet,
It's cold enough already,
The chill hurts my nose.
I'm thankful for my family,
That they're all supportive,
That they're so wonderful.
I'm thankful for my friends,
That they still care about me,
And aren't planning on leaving anytime soon.
Most of all though,
I am thankful I'm still living my days,
As a young 12-year-old girl
Who still has a lot to learn.
