A Sideways Trek Into Digital Ether x

Now don't be miffed, or warpaint your face, and do not storm the Bastille or burn this book on a holy bonfire just yet... yes, I realize that everyone has been writing down the screen as usual, usual usual usual, down down down, dull dull dull and most dreary to the point of excruciatingly tortuous monotony... ..............................................    so, let us, right here, adopt a completely wild supposition, for just for one moment in the great expanse of time, for one tiny tick of the wound-up cosmic clock, let us assume that there is a different choice that exists right in front of our eyes, and... ......................................................... and it was a choice never chosen, not ever considered before... never... by anyone in the history of mankind. Yes, that is where I'm taking you, out here... here, in this virgin digital ether, never before graced, defiled, or explored by a single human creature until now... ......................... So, what may we find here, a pretty picture? ...............................................................................................  ............................................................ Well, what do you know! We can plop down a pretty picture way out here in binary outer space. ................................................. Let us assume, however, that we are still on earth, our feet on terra-firma, and we are standing in a field. Being adventurous spirits, we yearn for the woods to see what is within, and what is beyond... ...................................... now, going on an innovative, psychologically expanding, philosophical adventure may give you a hint as to who your tour guide is, but let us not spoil the mystery so soon; let us see what is around the next bend... .................................................. but, then again, if you are already missing the old crowd, and the usual profundity trickling down, down, down the screen, as if it were imprisoned on an 8-1/2 x 11 page in a freshly-spined bound anthology of the traditional paper pulp variety, then you may jump off this sideways shuttle, this bus into the sidereal void, even as it is moving; and you may trod back to more familiar grounds, but you will do so on your own; I think I will continue on for a while... ...................................................................   ....................................................................................................... so, now that we have wormed our way through to this new realm, so distant from anything we have ever known, the question is, can we, even out here in this unlikely neverland, find metaphorical gobbledegook from poetic heartthrobs bleeding lemonade stands who chase echos from opium secrets levitating among drunken pole stars that cancel their party plans and form highly-vocalized synaptic connections with feather-dusted brains? We shall see, in good time, as we are humbled and deleted, edited and pasted, pinched and spiced and flavored with nutmeg, then sprinkled with birthday passion and consumed... .................................................................................. 194837461501928384711929384656583829191928273748484928346182826734848291910293846464838291010293837374646483829911029384864462934859820634129348172908561928347102938651092837410928561298347102938561298317419038619483746150static19283847119293846565838291919282737484849283461828267348482919102938464648382910102938373746464838299110293848644629348598206341293481729085619283471029386510928374109285612983471029385612983174190386 ........................................................................................ (well, after all, this IS a strange realm)      I believe we just passed a multi-dimensional string... ..........................................................................................   we can keep going sideway, even if we get hungry- for I see a diner just up ahead... ............................................................................        ...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

    also, some creepy little fact:
look up waterhouse's "Destiny", I swear I was reincarnated as that woman. Looks exactly like.

    Because you care right?
    Thought I'd share!

    Again. great write.

Wow, quite a dyzzing journey this was. I am always interested in anything new and unsusual so I had to check this one out, but I didn't expect anything quite like this. Scrolling horizontally added to the experience, kind of felt like I was zooming through space. The last part was a tease though, just like that to stop at the edge of the known universe! Shame, shame, shame.

That was the most fun I have had in years... venturing out into a realm of the unknown... it was ingenious, ingenious I tell you! I loved every minute of it. It was almost like I was in a new world, a virtual world, playing along like one my video games XD It was super fun. And now I am just typing and typing in attempts to go as long as you... but I know that will never happen... so I think I should give up now... but I don't feel like it yet. Did you know that the food at the end of the universe is great.

But lets go back to the start.

Wicked. That was great fun ! Thanks for the entry.

Wow- this is without doubt the most original thing I have seen or read on AP.

The ending was a bit abrupt, I could have read on a bit, but other than that this is a really strange, stimulating piece.

Good luck in contest- no doubt this will win! =)

    Superb plus

Considering that I write one word/liners in a vertical format, I find this to be the most incredible write I have ever seen on AP. There aren't any superlatives to cover what you have accomplised. One of the best satires on various science fiction novels that I have ever read.
    Again, well done.

Very creative and amazingly original (but you knew that )
The write, itself, is very good, incorporating more than words
in a linear string but actual thoughts and references
to the greater universe that we so often ignore out of
fear of insignificance... for that alone - Bravo.

Jason sent me the link, and I thought I was out on AP and I wanted to comment how amazing this was. I was only able to figure out how just now, forgive me...

This is the most different I've ever seen in AP.

what a trip, what an escape from my generic mind.

Thank you so much for sharing your talent. totally outstanding.

So perhaps the world IS flat,
but we shall never fall off,
for creativity has left a trail
    into the ethernet, where
    brave minds may teeter
    on the edge, but dance
    in delight at the concept.
A world beyond the norm here,
where the right brain kicks off
the left brain and plays with
    abandon...on the edge.

I think bigperm (who sent me the link) said it perfectly...I feel very unoriginal. I once took the other direction, went down for goodness knows how long on the page, with my rambling asides, which met with less than glowing comments, lol.

I was going to comment in the same style and though I've made that long string by mistake before, I'm not sure how to do it intentionally, lol.

I did find it quite creative, and of course, humorous, which, for me, is its own defense for being written!

Thanks for this brief respite from the same old, same old of Allpoetry.

and that, my friend is about the best compliment I could give you. I am glad to have read this and to have come across someone so talented.I wish you the best in the contest and feel sorry for anyone entering without their A-game.
