this book will be loved,
wrinkles carved into the spine
like vertebrae that
jut out too far beneath
the skin.
a constitution will form
between the veins of the pages;
words last forever here,
where others turn brittle
and chip away
until
only
fragments
remain.
wrinkles carved into the spine
like vertebrae that
jut out too far beneath
the skin.
a constitution will form
between the veins of the pages;
words last forever here,
where others turn brittle
and chip away
until
only
fragments
remain.

I love this because it describes all the books that fill my three bookcases

Not only that but I think subconscious thoughts like this run through a writer's head before they embark on their journey of storytelling. Makes you wonder what Stephenie Meyer or Jodi Picoult or Anne Rice were thinking before they created their masterpieces.
You did pretty kick ass on this nice job

I think the title is fantastic. It gives the piece a tone of something contained trying to break out. Words are that way, you know, the pen is mighter...Terrific poetry.

I loved everything about this one, expect fot the title and your notes. The content is excellent.

Nice one. I can picture the book in my mind. I'm happy for you and hope that you write a lot of great things in your new book. Good luck in the contest.
