You are doing well
not hurting at all
everything's paid for
having fun spending
I am so proud for you
and all you've accomplished
but every time we go out
I get to watch you shop
Buying things over-priced
like it's going out of style
Must be nice to have it
but you get way too wild
I gotta get this and that
knowing we're in a pinch
It's taking every dime
just to make ends meet
Why do you ask me
to go shopping with you
when I have to be the one
that goes empty-handed
You make me feel poor
and beneath you, at times
Sister, you can lose it all
as fast as you got it...

Thank you so much for entering this in my contest. The economy is really crap these days and since I'm now unemployed, and my sister is a well paid teacher and doing really well, I can certainly relate to the poem. Great job! You took the prompt someplace I didn't imagine it going, and I think that's why I like this piece so much, it shows creativity!
