It's not your fault his hands are cold
As you hold onto the wounds
left in the past
So afraid to love someone
And turning away from the meaning
In your story
A heart that is ignored
Slowly freezes
Into ice
To be loved by someone,
Anyone,
Makes it all worthwhile,
that pain
If I had another chance,
If it were me,
I would once again
Embrace your heart
And melt that ice
Away
It's fate's call,
Though my heart aches,
When your tears dry
I hope that
That ray of light
Will fall from the dark
So that we can grasp it
So that we can feel
That fierce and aching touch
Of a person's warmth
Sorrow and loneliness
We endured that together
And yet, while you were searching
For a place to heal our wounds
I'd been running far away
I wish I could say, that
"yes, that place is here,
sheltered in my arms,
Don't hesitate, don't worry,
I'll protect you."
I'm not as strong
as You
Because it was a love
As beautiful
As it was miserable
That cherished time
We spent together,
It's ephemeral
If I had another chance,
If it were me,
I would once again
Embrace your heart
And melt that ice
Away
To be loved by someone,
Anyone
It makes life shine
And I realize you won't need me
To turn an icy heart
Back into
love
