Eternal Lovers

Missing image

Autumn moon hangs low-
Eternal lovers not so,
Heralding dawn's sky.

Contest criteria: "Any Form" - Contest Prompt: "See there’s this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It’s the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me." ~Gretchen Kemp

My haiku was also inspired by Matsuo Kinsaku, the first great haiku poet, who would later change his name to Basho in honor of the tree given him by a disciple. From On Love and Barley - Haiku of Basho:

"Summer moon--
clapping hands,
I herald dawn."
~Basho, 1644-94
