Fall is upon us again
Crackling with the burgandies and tangerines
As the leaves glide dancingly through the crisp air
A silent ballet as they dip, swirl, spin, and fall gracefully towards the fading earth.
Winter has swallowed the world for her short time
Bitingly, the air snaps at uncovered flesh
Teasingly the wind runs her fingers through stray locks of hair
Bundled in a frozen atmosphere where the bare trees shiver against cool breath of Winter.
Spring blushes upon the rosy cheeks of every tree
Peering through the cloudless sky for the much awaited warmth
Infant budding leaves cautiously unfurling to absorb the sunlight
As the voluptuous flower buds begin to impatiently burst into bloom.
Summer hums with the cicadas as the trees cast their shade lovingly on passer-bys
Reaching their many arms to the sky in praise of life
Heat pulsing in the visible air with the heady scent of oak and daisies
Green leafy hairs protecting the squirrels and birds within.
Only to begin again, no matter the events of man.

Author notes
I live in Texas, where the seasons pretty much go from Winter straight to Summer and back again. Spring and fall are a week long event that occur if one is lucky. Our fall in north Texas this year has been particularly short, but this may just be my opinion due to not having enough free time to enjoy it. Enjoy the read!
