Dancing Remembers

Missing image

Ever dance
to close eyed
fantasies;

flickering flames
just to feel the breeze
glide in Adonis arms,

finesse imaginary notes
played to twist,
turn and dip
escaping solitude?

Even as words echo
where scars
are slow to heal…
                                    (Romance is a lie

                                    a dull,
                                    deceptive razor
                                    cutting tears –

                                    those soddened hopes
                                    left to cling
                                    believing:

                                    tomorrow will suave yesterday. )

Quiet these
                    jaded whispers
who solemnly withstood -
withdrawn from the evening,

fade them, bend them,
dance as this night
move to dawn.

There is always music;

To welcome hello,
embrace
reaching hands
not with old fears;
but new flame:

rekindled embers
of innocence
want to live

eyes wide open;

ballrooms
and chandeliers,
fields of flowers
beneath a summer’s sun.

No more!
No more Shall I
let dim lit candles
covet
unrequited dreams.

Love is alive!

    Thanks for Entering... I Love the imagery of your words as well as how you describe romance. I guess Love is like living in that dance, that monent, never looking forward nor back. Great poem. It brings the precious sound of music into my head
