Bound for the afterlife the battleship navigates
searching for truth and the path to peace,
tossed upon fires showing the light deep below
in spiralling swirls falsity grasps.
Succubus of evil circling round
breathing noxious fumes that hypnotize,
golden castles of redemption so close to the end
eddy towards journey's final emancipation.
Upon twisting seas of fire the ship creaks and groans
as all thought melts in this ocean of suffering,
screams of comprehension feels corruption embrace
as a malevolent plague seeps into souls.
And satanic wings flame the castles illusion
with promise of enlightenment the jewel in the crown,
almost caught in the brilliance of momentary pledge
yet a glimpse of darkness overhead finally rattles truth's cage.
For finally the battleship finds strength to overcome
the light merely a fantasy within neverending darkness,
too powerful now casting depravity's mask out of reach
corruption roars its anger of sinister threat.
Too late now, for reality has and will conquer all,
as the vileness watches the ship cut all anchors,
rudder of certainty now sails onto forever
as Lucifer screams his despicable curse.
