Her beauty
could never go
endlessly unnoticed,
the way the light would lay
such a soft cloak upon tender petals
and zephyrs of sweetness
caught her blushing colours.
Yet behind the radiance
of her rainbow,
dwelt fearful feelings
of unwanted notoriety.
As bulbs flashed before her eyes
the knot in her insides
begged her to
don her mantle of obscurity
and she didn't argue.
could never go
endlessly unnoticed,
the way the light would lay
such a soft cloak upon tender petals
and zephyrs of sweetness
caught her blushing colours.
Yet behind the radiance
of her rainbow,
dwelt fearful feelings
of unwanted notoriety.
As bulbs flashed before her eyes
the knot in her insides
begged her to
don her mantle of obscurity
and she didn't argue.

Wonderfully contemporary thoughts yet they could relate to anyone in the limelight long ago as well.
Best wishes in the contest.

100th hoodwink
hmmm, interesting. I don't sere how the poem reflects shy. I thought it was the exact opposite. Or perhaps, she didn't want to but had no other choice but to give into the public.
