Happy for you...

They say he treats you well;
tender touches in the cold early morning,
a warm mouth breathing on your bare left shoulder,
drinking mocha in the corner booth of the cafe,
listening to your tantrums with a strong, steady smile.

Good for you two.

The inevitable interlocking of fingers
as you stroll down the autumnal path,
sitting in the park, sketching your eyes
as the billowing clouds drift overhead.

Really, I'm happy you're happy.

The way he bonds with your father
over their favorite sports team,
impresses your mother into quick whispers
while he steps out of the room for a moment.

...

It must be coincidence he reminds people of me.
And you take him to all the spots we had dates.
After all, you're totally over me.

And of course I'm totally over you.

I love that ending. I've been in this situation before, and it's really interesting when people will try to pretend they're over someone when they're really not, yet they keep taking their new person to all the old places. It really makes you wonder what they're thinking. Bravo on this poem, it is pretty much exactly what I was looking for in my contest. Also, thank you for entering my contest, all the entries were awesome!
