wasn’t it
when first you said I love you ?
and the world stood still
for a moment
while your lips,
those sweet lips
came close to mine
now here it is
years later
and your words of love
still make the world stop
and the birds
singing their songs
seem more profoundly happy
all the ups and downs
the bitter and the sweet
have become our memories
to be interwoven
within the universe
as those who’ve
been a part of our lives
bow their heads in prayer
within their thoughts
permeating the air
we’ve become immortalized
as they think of us
and once again
my world stands still
as you say I love you
for the first time
... again
