Author notes

Prompt: Two lines that speak the truth.
I guess I was watching the show 24: redemption, i don't like 24 so I changed it soon after but they were talking about basically how during war and stuff people like to train children to kill and its sad because it really just doesn't happen on TV , it has actually happen before, like people actually do that to kids, so I guess this was kind of like a mini-rant. I tried to make it as poetic as I could though.

    I only read the notes about this episode of "24", but it had to do with civil wars in Africa, where children as young as 8 are taken (kidnapped sometimes) to be soldiers for one side or another, and there is no childhood left: they become casualties of the worst sort, killing machines who never learned the value of life, or right from wrong... and that throws me right back to my own country (U.S.), and the reality of gang life in our cities... your rant is as painful as it is true.

    I wrote a poem recently about this same thought. I wondered how they could live with themselves after some kid dies because they want to blow up innocent people! Worse than that ...people are joining their efforts anyway! The Shaker

    Kinda wierd in the best way possible. Really vivid, forcing me to invision scores of beaten half to death robot kids pursuing helpless people. Like raptures with AK's.
