Jingle Bells Christmas smells,
depression's on its way.
Close the door, pull the drapes,
Holidays cost too much to pay.
Happy Holidays, bah humbug.
Those alone with nowhere to go
don't give a good gosh darn
if the day will be trimmed in snow.
All alone, no one calls at all.
No presents, no tree, no holly,
hoping that Chubbo Santa Clause
will go somewhere else to be jolly.
Hands outstretched, wanting tips
and gifts and presents and loot. . .
Do I love Christmas, do I??
NO, I don't give one single hoot.

Well, I can certainly understand and relate to this. When there's no one around for a holiday, it just doesn't seem to matter - it's just another day. And there are many people who feel this way...
Thank you for your heartfelt entry.
best wishes in the contest

Ahhh Christmas, time to lock the doors, bar the windows and hibernate for 3 months
Excellent write! So much of it holds sad truth but you put a wonderful spin on it. All the best in the contest

Excellent
Oh I just loved this poem. You made it funny yet it is so depressing but also so true in many area's. We spend money we don't have and no one really cares that much about the stupid gift anyway for it blows over soon after purchase. Then there are those whom are starving with no one who seems to care.
No, I don't give one single hoot.
Wishing You Blessings Though...LOL
Much Love
Kelle Marie
