On a dusty road to Antietam

Tramp, tramp, tramp...
Another day.
Another road.
Another battle.

I am a pair of leather boots.
Filled with the feet of a Union soldier.

On a dusty road to Antietam.

Great title. I imagine the sun rose and set in the same fashion on that day as any other, and there was little in its beginning to indicate the massive slaughter that would follow. Powerful understatement in your closing line.
