i
a few springs
a few summers
if im lucky
if im average
to feel high,
do the possible
fuck sleep work play
then it will be done.
learning you know nothing
knowing you can never learn it all
thinking what if you didnt think,
would it all still be here..
ii
cest la vie's the phrase
for when your backs
against a wall
when you have a choice
you choose
but noose around your neck
and its hard not to
surrender your voice
still
wanting
is when we feel most
admire the helpless
unsatisfied will
exploding in
deep
desperate
shortlived spurts
and numb betweens,
from those robotic moments,
comes a certain peace
an acceptance
sadness, irrelevent
pain, of no consequence
imminent hanging..
a pleasant sea change
you see men
not jailers
you see a fly alight
on the scaffold
not an escape route
times like this,
its not indifference.
its as close to a god
as you are ever going to feel.
iii
today i accept the layer of dust
as a place the dust fell
know my perception of its whole
hides in how it lies
and may not be true
I block out all places
except one
hear the way sound
travels along a lightening bolt
instead of voices in my head
wanting has not stopped
wanton residue, my body,
but my mind is clear
an entity
whole and other
than a sum
of blood and bodyparts
it fears nothing
knows that in time
my body will move from here
in one way or another
but just now i will sit
face the sky, wait,
my base has made a mark
moss turns velvet on my surface
when it rains
i know this place
this is the place
i will leave or
i will decay
cest la vie.

this is not the only great thought in this poem, but it's the one that stands out for me. This is a really good poem, and I appreciate the thought and passion that has gone in to it. Thank you for this entry. -
deep and introspective. I'm impressed by the thought that went onto this. You have obviously taken the time to consider the prompt carefully.
Well done!

The discovery of yourself, it is what it is, you are what you are. Live it, as you wish, on your terms. If I had em, I'd give you some claps, but no got!

i don't know what to say here but i know i enjoyed what i read, keep it flowing and good luck in the contest.
