I await you darling; I can feel you coming,
as I sit here on this shivering Earth.
Waiting for you to clasp me with your
frigid hand, and lead me to the stars.
I want you to put a soft red rose in your hair,
it offsets the chalky bleakness of your face,
oh, so very well.
The music is beginning, sounds like a waltz,
a perfect choice for our Dance of Fulfillment.
Through zephyr winds and chattering limbs
we will rise as the moon frames our figures.
Stardust is sprinkled on the floor, can you see?
We join arms, tis the last dance for me.
Hurry if you want, if not, don’t;
it matters not to me, for my
arms are open awaiting you;
no matter how long it takes.
And when we swirl and dip, and lock
our lips in a kiss, one eternity will end;
and yet another will begin.
Such is the way of life…and death.
I know that you love me, as I love you;
only you care enough to do this for me.
Dance with me ‘til the trumpet blows,
and you escort me in to meet the Divine.
She has given us two gifts to carry on
this Earth; gifts so wondrous that only
She may bestow them, transcendent of
love, and of mere mortal feelings.
One is the Gift of our births, the other…
Is the Gift of dying.
Author notes
Thoughts on living and dying. My waxen haired mistress, the Angel of Death, awaits me on the dance floor.

Two to dance from start to end,
two to meet at last to mend
