Miss your voice here in the dark,
words of love that would spark.
Our nights of passion and flame,
phone lay silent, not the same.
Whispering words of love in ear,
phone calls that brought you near.
Though far apart, made me smile,
talk for hours across the miles.
Now silence is deafening tonight,
sense something is just not right.
With each tick the silence creeps,
I can not slumber, nor fall asleep.
Silent phone keeps us far apart,
the only sound, my beating heart.
Sleep will not come till I can hear,
you whisper, "Good night my dear".

Nice read. The rhyme and rhythm move forward, slow paced the reader enjoys the apprehension of love forgotten at a distance. Love needs to be reassured from apart to hear good night as slumber fails to come. Good luck with the contest
