Embers so intense,
passion's fire, roots deep.
Passion, smoldering,... hidden away,
Cupids secret to keep.
My soul is on fire
will my flesh obey?
Every fiber of my body
wants to pull back, pull away.
A spark settled in my heart,
unnoticed, blending with the
sparks that were mine from the start.
No fanfare, or bright glow.
No one to alert,
Nothing to know.
Then, like fire uses coal,
that small spark ignited,
and set passion on my soul.
Its all I can do
to just maintain,
I never realized till this moment
that passion is the partner of pain.
This being,... this passion...
that I fear, will find its escape.
Should I relax? Let it blow?
Can anything survive
this passionate being?
Born in my mind,
hidden till whole,
my gift to you,
(is not just passion),
but a passionate soul.

Yet another great entry. Epitome of unrequited love. Excellent job. I would only change one thing.
Then, like fire uses coal,
that small spark ignited,
and set passion on my soul.
Then, like fire uses coal,
that small spark ignited,
and set passion aflame in my soul.
Just a suggestion. Great piece, thanks for entering and good luck!!
