Cold snow on your front lawn,
This place is an empty room,
And my ribs feel so cold,
You say you'll call,
but I know you're safe in someone's arms,
You'll go back and sleep alone,
in your crowded bed,
With your body that you give to the lonely,
I wish I could ease the pain,
that you clutch onto,
I wish I could change those tears
to kisses on your cheeks.
In empty hope,
I'll sit by my silent phone,
Clouds cover the empty sky,
This heart is a dark place,
yet some how my mind is so hopeful.
