Spilled out on blank pieces of paper
are the lines, that tell a sad story
One of lies, betrayal, back-stabbing
hopeless, depressing monologues
They are the words of a broken
and downward spiraled person
who, wished for just once
that things could go right
The hands on the damn clock
spin out of control into chaos
as everything that matters
the wheels seem to fall off
And the poet writes on more
sad effigy, to his darkness
shedding light on all those
damned thoughts inside
One last impression to make
he slits his pale, bony wrist
to trickle his finest moment
all intertwined in blood and ink

Wow; this is very well-written, and it reminded me a little of "The Poet and the Pendulum" by Nightwish, in which the lyricist/composer, Tuomas Holopainen, penned his own death. This had the same eerie vibes, almost as though you had written of your own death, whether physical or emotional.
I don't know how much of this is personal, but even so, this one did cut to the chase. Brilliantly-written, and thanks for entering!

A very expressive piece of pain to thought. the hopelessness of it all is indeed intense, as well as the certain depth of which the words spilled, and how they mingle with the sorrows set free. Nicely penned!

Powerful write. I liked the second and third stanzas the best. Seemed to express lots of emotion and the feeling of hopelessness and of losing control in life. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.
