Danse Macabré

Two skeletons dance
Draped in the moon-bleached flesh
Of forgetfullness
Shallow products
Of the chaos ensuing
From a world that misremembers
In the starlight they ponder
Wrapped in each others' arms
Decorated in ink
Blackened souls laying
Waiting for life to be breathed
Into them
Holding onto
Phantasmic love lost.
