Out on the farm the turkeys ran free,
with their waddle and gobble gobble
sure did entice me.
I was a lonely old buzzard
just flying about the sky,
and I decided to see.
For myself what all the noise was
and oolala she caught my eye.
Hey there mama I sure like your style,
wont you come over
and woo me for a while.
Mama tukey ruffled her feathers
and turned her back ,
and with a gobble gobble gobble
replied your not my type jack.
The old buzzard hopped down
on the ground ,
and for several hours
just watched her without a sound .
The old tom turkey
caught him there and what a fight,
and the old buzzard ducked his head
and spread his wings wide.
The fight was on and the feathers flew,
and that old mama turkey
strutted her stuff and said you hoo.
Look at them fight and little do they know,
this her mama wont take neither thats for show.
Mama turkey strolled
to the back of the pen,
and there was a young gobbler
and she saddled up with him .
When the fight was over
and the two went there sepetrate ways,
they were both frustrated
on what they saw that day.
Old Tom Turkey and the buzzard
lay against the fence,
and was in full view
of that barnyard wench .
She was one busy mama
and as they looked each others way ,
that was the day the tom and the buzzard
took a bow that day.
We may be old but
that was one heck of a fight ,
and in our persuit we missed
the whole show thats right .
But we may be old
but brother we gotta say,
that she doesnt know what she missed
but there will be other days .
Author notes
Happy thanksgiving and make sure the turkey you shoot this year has brown wings for those black wing turkeys are some tough dudes
