Moth Loved

A moth, plain and dowdy,
rowdy wings
a flutter-flutter plain-Jane butterfly,
too close, too far, brought near and burned again,
to the light, too bright;
its own destruction
the most beautiful thing
it will ever see.

Between darkness,
the world swallowing,
hope-smothering
lonely-empty chill,
and lovely-making, cold-transcending
kiss of light in the night,
who would not choose
to be burned,
by such a tender-seeming embrace?

Oh. This is another cool poem that I have found in the featured today. I really like that it has a unique subject about moths. You don't see a lot of poems about those and that's great. It makes it more interesting when you have read about that subject before. So I stayed with you till the last line. You did a good job of expressing yourself here.

humans and moths share the same attraction for shiny things
since human seem to have a bigger amount
    of brain they included cliches
in the list of trinkets to be considered attractive

    who's smarter?
