I stand alone in the failing light
Tears glisten down my face,
as I watch you walk away
Two fates entwined no longer,
though my love still burns strong
Your heart shall pass to another
Mine shall never lose sight of you

Basking in the brilliance of the sun

are but a distant memory

    very nicely written I feel the emotion that you have in this one. I think you did well with it. You used imagaery well. I am sorry you did not place in the contest. It did deserve too.

    Beautiful poem about the joys of growing. Sad to lose a love but wonderful when you find one that seems to be the you were meant for. This piece was just so wonderful. You managed to put some vivid pictures in my mind with you standing there watching your love walk away. Tears glisten down your face - a lovely line. Then to find yourself intwined with a new love that takes your heart away, but still you remember your lesson. This is the way life turns, isn't it. Fantastic piece of work. Keep it up! (the work)
