Been Gone Awhile...

Been gone awhile.

Awake,

    lonely...

desperation to

                  rekindle.

In my mind
beautiful,

                  her face lingers.

Fifth Avenue.

Anticipation...

heart pounds,
pulse quickens,
as I round the corner,

                  I'm almost there.

ah sweet love mixed with a hint of loneliness - such is the way of the world, the heart and mind float on clouds of pleasure as beauty captures the essence of all we are, the spirit soars. a good piece of poetry penned.

Cool. Show so much in a short poem. On how badly you want to get there.

    Its unique and original

However it is lacking substance in my mind. Leaves a little too much missing for my imagery to fill. Just could use some more placement. However the emotion is POWERFUL and is able to hit and affect me. very nice

i really liked this... the short punchy lines move me quickly to the next, eager to read what is in store... yet, the ending of it is left to the imagination as though you wrote it using invisible words. thank you

    Lovely

A diet of words a fat man's dream. Simple in nature and yet more than meets the eye. Well done dear poet. -c

    Superb

A very fine write. You expressed your thoughts quite well. Your poem reminded me of an old song from a movie: "On the Street Where You Live", from 'My Fair Lady'. If you are not already familiar with it here's a link to click on:

Wow that's really a great setup for the...

anticipation the poem brings. It's so simple,
    but yet beautifully composed.

Very quick poem, the words feel like they are rushing you to the end, racing with the poem
