Graduation Thoughts

Missing image
With pride and honour
he stands for his country,
knowing that to ensure peace and unity
will be forever his guide.

Yet swirling deep beneath
those eyes of honest hue,
wild thoughts of fear of times to come
where all life must be dealt with integrity.

The line of mouth so strong yet soft
mixes a palette of equality's thoughts,
to many he is now the enemy
but to others a sign of a saviour.

His thoughts are in a different place
as voices boom out congratulations,
weighed by the enormity of the tasks ahead
he prays for the wisdom to forever seek justice for all.

    100th Hood-Wink!

This is a beautiful take on the picture and I love how you have looked to both sides of the feelings - the elation of being able to serve his country, and the caution of being the best he can be for justice ... a wonderful look into the picture - I wish you the best of luck in the contest!

    Keep writing

I dont know how to comment. Your words bring to life the picture prompt but could stand alone and still be a wonderful tribute.
Thank you so much for sharing this.

This is such a strong, poignant interpretation of this prompt, you have chosen such wise and wonderful words to express all this young soldiers (and many others) must feel, a time to celebrate and a time to realise his worst fears. Bravo for giving this beautiful boy a voice. Best to you in the contest with this outstanding piece.
