Friend or Foe

This is rich...
  Fucking bitch.

Let see what your insides are,
    Discover who you are hiding,
What are you inside?

Do you hold it against me?

            This self-professed confusion,
                    Use it to your advantage,
Or will you give me a chance...

                    At
                        self-discovery...

Deep in the catacombs of my heart,
That I have yet to feel blindly through,
Are you already planning to deface the plaques in here,
Will I find nothing but smooth stones,
Running underneath my cold fingers.

This is sad...
    Let's find out how bad.

Let see what your mind comes up with,
      Disect your thoughts,
You know what I am.

Such a poignant "conversation" -- one could be having it with another real person, or with the parts on oneself that seem to drag us down, always pointing out our faults, preventing true self-knowledge. The lines "Deep in the catacombs of my heart, that I have yet to feel blindly through" are very strong, and ending the stanza with "my cold fingers" is a wonderful connection to the idea that inside you have to feel your way... I also like the bit of self-reliance, or defiance, putting your chin out, at the end -- I am what I am! Another thought-provoking piece. I really liked reading and thinking about this.

I like the little bits of rhyme, I like the offset structure, and I like the sense of random thoughts that actually make sense, in a strange way.
Great work, the ending is brilliant. Loved it all over and nothing to speak negatively of.
