Sleep well my dear.
Dream undisturbed dreams of
smiles rather than sneers.
Smile an open smile
that your lovely face is not accustomed to
and should be.
Sleep as a babe
with your skin pale and soft
and your mouth curved
in a daydream whim.
Keep your eyes closed
so you needn't see this world
and all of its foolishness
so below you
and all that you love.
Tuck your hands under your head
in the guise of a child
with a nature as sweet as the guise
and an innocence marred
by sneers and cruel words
that do not reach dreamland.
Sleep in peace.
