Relatively Speaking

“Well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle”
is a phrase used by more than a few.
Although technically, if Darwin was right,
it’s more like I’m his nephew.

Now I’m not here to argue
whether evolution’s wrong or right.
Too many folk would get their panties
twisted.  I’m not here to incite.

We’re all from the same origins
no matter which Master your serve.
So shouldn’t each living creature
be treated with respect they deserve?

Anyone who mistreats an animal
diminishes the humanity of all.
I’d find it difficult to offer forgiveness
but I’d try after he’s hung by his (expletives).

    I can empathise with...

..the message, but I seem to be having difficulty with the flow of the piece.
I DO feel it could be improved, but it's not a bad effort though.
Have a bit of the clap.
    R.

I enjoyed reading this. You did an excellent job with the prompt. I really liked the last two stanzas, strong message within this poem that you've written.

    good luck

Bravo! Wonderful message...and your usual cheeky humour.

AND...spelling error, line 2. 'by more'
You have no idea how much I've missed picking up on your spelling. Thank you! You probably put it there on purpose just for me to find.

Anyway, send me a message when you get a chance and let me know how you're going. We're all fantastic over here. Will get some photos up soon too.

    Speak soon.
