Our love was any love at all;
All memories of sweetness barred
Behind the evil since our fall.
But yesterday my mind was eased,
To see us both immortalized.
Just three years past - we were so young...
But by those smiles I realized,
There truly was affection there;
Young love connecting you and me.
A single photo testifies
To our single ounce of purity...

"You are young, and your bitter recollections have time to change themselves to tender remembrances.” - Athos, The Three Musketeers
The Past is such a curious Creature
To look her in the Face
A Transport may receipt us
Or a Disgrace --
Unarmed if any meet her
I charge him fly
Her faded Ammunition
Might yet reply.

Superb. The whole of it flows so smoothly and the end is so very well worded. Well, all of it is really. You are a Queen of poetry, my dear. Superb.

Outstanding
Photographs can bring back so many memories - both good and bad- and I liked the positive message of this poem that the love was real at the time. A thoughtful and well-written poem.

Just beautiful! I love the thoughts you expressed in this and as always your rhyme and flow is just wonderful.

brilliant writte
this is truely a piece of excellent writting i really enjoyed reading it. I can really actually relate to the ideas on reflection, which is nice because it made me think back outside of now and into the past as you have in the poem itself. The imagery of the photograph is fantastic at evoking a real picture in the readers mind. I like the way this takes a hopefull outlook on a typically sorrowfull and depresing theme.
Well done!!
