Voices Within

Missing image

Sounds of yesterday

softly echo,

soothing the pain

of today.

Lost in words

once spoken,

I long for one more

beat of your heart.

Laughter now quiet,

hushed by

ashed tears

upon my pillow.

Dreams shared

scream in captivity,

never to

be freed.

Sleep interrupted

by whispers,

haunted by

flaming shadows.

Voices burn.

This is awesome dear Sam... I can understand and feel the words and the emotion behind this...

As always you write so well. I am constantly amazed with your poetry and to be honest... a little jealous of your more than able ability to write and write so well!

This piece is quite an excellent piece of work Sam... more than worthy of a gold trophy! I do wish you well in this contest.

    I miss talking to you...

    Much love...

    ~Melissa
