Hair so long and fair
Loved by all,
Hated by the one worn on.
Scissors in shaking hands,
Blood running from her wrists,
Snipping at one thing
That everyone seems to love about her.
"Why can't it be me they love?
Why must it be a part of me that they love?"
Eyes losing their innocent twinkle.
Tears streaming down baby soft cheeks.
Running water over scarred wrists.
Years pass and the young mature.
She looks at herself in the mirror,
Finally seeing why everyone loves her hair.
Eyes green and brown, shining with innocence again,
Smiles returning to her soft face.
Loving herself for once
Because she is finally in love
With someone who loves her for all of her,
Not just her innocence.

Great.
I love how your poems tell things about your life but you make it sound like it's someone else. It flowed well and the emotions it stirred were real. I felt her pain and I felt her satisfaction. Great write. -
mmm...i liked that alot.

I loved the beginning of this poem! You incorporated everything into it so well ... the scissors, the blood, etc. It was really great! I've felt like this before and could relate. Well written and great piece! Good luck in the contest!

All tingling feelings are good, right?

Actually, I didn't want it to be sarcastic because of how it is an exact mirror of what happened to me... (shrug)
