Time and Season

Missing image

I couldn't’t wait to leave, to escape the clutching

hands of despair, the bright lights of the city had

called for me when I found you there.

You showed me the inside of my self with such

clarity and painted my dreams without restraint,

the soft hues of light reflect off the beauty of your

eyes you said .......“so let me paint”.

Covering my heart with each brush stroke

of tenderness you gave a privileged life and

guided me to be a "princess"

Your vision of me painted on canvas in red silk

loosely draped lying on a chaise, my expression

of complete surrender,.....long black hair cascading

over one breast, “ pale skin a beautiful contrast to

my red painted "lips,.......", you said.

You saw in me what I had failed to see, you made

me feel like I could fly, that I could be and do anything,

I always wondered why you were so taken.....

you’d
say “I can see the depth "of your soul, .... your essence".

You changed the colors of my soul brought me

back to life all captured on canvas, and what we

shared  I will never forget and gave each other

what we needed most,

........... in that time and season.

  • The ability to immerse completely
Is a secret no longer kept
As each line passed before my eyes
    My soul softly wept

To render such a secret in such style
Will remain with me for a little while

    Ummm....

This one sends shivers down my spine!!!!!

Sexy, loving, revealing, revelling in womanhood...

I could not ask for more.

Would that ALL women could revel in their womanhood...by hearing from a man who did the same.

    Have him call me, k?

    Just kidding! lol

sexy pic. poem goes well with it, like the right wine for the course. 'privilege' should have a 'd' on the end. "...like pygmalion' not needed; a stop at 'princess' gives the emphasis on princess where you wanted it. i like the silk lying on a fainting couch. nice visual. note: should be "lips.....," you said. and again, "of your soul....., your essence." capturing the soul of a person in paint or a poem is the work of an artist. it seems you have blended them both very well in this slow-handed romance of a poem. -showphish

wow, this poem is simply amazing. so much detail was gave, and it was so well written. if i could i would give a thousand applauses. but i can only give three. absolutely breath taking. it inspires me to try to make a common sentence into so much more.

Covering my heart with each brush stroke

of tenderness you gave a privilege life and

guided me to be a princess just like they did

    in “Pygmalion”.

i like how you said "covering my heart with each brush stoke"
i sighed in aww on that part.

I like how you combined the title and the last line of the work. this write is really touching and it shows how all of us have a distorted view of ourselves ... it is always helpful to really recognize how others' see us and to truly accept this gift.

This has some beautiful moments which really explode off the page. The first stanza really pulls the reader in and captures their attention fully. I love the painting concept. I've tried using a similar idea, but without the depth you created here.

If I were to change anything I'd limit the amount of "and"s that you use in this one stanza:

'You changed the colors of my soul and brought me

back to life and captured it on canvas, and

    shared...'

3 times you used "and" in one sentence. This could be stronger by just saying:

'You changed the colors of my soul, brought me

back to life, all captured on canvas, and shared...'

I love how the piece ends. There is a lot of beauty and feeling in the whole thing!

original and very smoothly written. Your usage of imagery is wonderful done, I guess "being in love" can change your (self)-perception dramatically. love can work as a mirror. Great building up of the poem, into vividly stanza, each with its own story. There is a kind of sadness in your poem, a sadness of departure------->"in that time and season". Thank you for sharing it. Take care.

This poem is a moving statement of the passages that we traverse in our periods of life. An enlightened portraiture of the value of our human connections that we experience just when they are needed most. They can assist us in peeling back the layers and helping move to the next level. This is always compassionate and offering guidance. You eloquently paint the essence of this exchange with brush strokes of brilliance.

    A Masterpiece of Creativity

Rend; what an experience to have the delight of reading such a write as this! You have taken this write as a model would find with the painter who was not only taken with her beauty, but her inner beauty...Your words and flow here only enhance this originality, and your personal feelings of finding the worthiness all we women pray for in the sight of those who would love us...Bookmarking dear daughter! Unbelievably masterful and moving write!

The words in your poem seem to encompass the essence of life. They slow dance through the infinite mind, brushing upon the oneness of souls - the original whole or The Most High's First Creation. A complex matter reflected in a way that makes it suited for general consumption, while remaining eloquent. Great write. Take care,
