Today is the day
Graduating basic training
Hooray...
I made it past this part
what lies ahead is unsure
I don't know where my first duty station will be
or if I will have to leave my family
I look around to soldiers just like me
they are just as unsure as I am
We never know if we're going to be deployed
over seas, another country, maybe even Afghanistan
We are young men and women who have volunteered
our lives to help our country to stay free
Someone has to do it
we are brave soldiers
risking everything for a future unknown
