Which Way To Fort Lauderdale?

My parents decided to put me to the test,
-they kicked me out of my twiggy nest.
But, I didn't mind being on my own,
ever since my feathers became fully grown.
In fact I was having a real fun time,
flying around in this northern clime.
The chicks all thought that I was one hot bird,
not some flappy, sappy flighty nerd.
Then one day a cold wind blew,
it was time that this little bird flew.
I had heard through word of mouth,
that the best place to go was way down South.
I didn't have to think about it twice,
for I was on my way to someplace nice.
Good thing I have two wings and not two hands,
for I soon found myself on the hot Florida sands.
Don't worry because I'll be back next Spring,
after I get done doing this migration thing.
I'll make a beeline back from the Everglades,
look for a bird with a tan in some real cool shades!
