The hills are steep, a plummet
to the unknown, much as the fear
of death.
The grassy bottom --
plush,
solid beneath the beauty, beneath
the landscape.
Seen from the distance
of echoed longing, lured
to the edge of the slippery slope.
Sliding down made the colors blend.
Colors --
of calm before the storm;
masqueraded beauty;
the sighs of satisfaction.
Only the bottom bares a thud,
an empty nudge, mockingly cold.
At the bottom,
no way atop the hills.
The depth of the fall,
deep as the sorrow
you knew all along.

very well written and almost dark serene feel(you know i love the dark scenery)
When I read this I think off folks falling flat on face to wake up and want to stand in the mist of life's mud and muck only hoping to make it across the neverending story of trials, or so we think at the story will always be so cruel, we get bits of light to guide the way.
Thanks for bringing this out here

Why do you fall?
When your heart only wishes to climb!

Now that's what I call an abyss, the visual of large canyons or deep fall, is incredibly graphic, It's almost scary. well done on the write. Sir William.
