I put off,
hesitated,
and the page got smaller,
my thoughts and images
further away.
I could see dictionaries
fading to nothing
as words slipped,
drifting away in time.
Could I find
the expressions to explain
the light in her eyes
or her vanilla smells
in the words
of Shakespeare's dictionary?

Words, flowery foo foo words... You nailed this one. You won't find the words to describe your love by pillaging the dictionary. You gotta dive in, start frantically writing, and make it happen within the golden second of inspiration. But, you obviously know this, and did a fine and eloquent job of expressing this sentiment. Well done!
