Pink Cotton Dawn

Deep crimson brick porch
Frames rising sun

Bright rosy clouds
Soft rolling billows
Blue-black sky

Creator's garment

Author notes

This poem is inspired by a picture I took right before breakfast one morning, at my first college, from the east porch of the dining hall.

I love the sense of awe in this. The descriptions are great - however I feel like they could flow more smoothly if you tweaked it a little. Right now it's kind of got the texture of a haiku, which isn't my favorite, but maybe that was supposed to be part of the poem.

Thanks! "Texture of a haiku"--I'll take it! Really, I try to let the style fit the subject. Wasn't trying for a haiku, exactly, but it seems to work.

    Yes, I can see it!

"Creator's garment" is a memorable line. I will think of that next time I view a sunrise or sunset!
