Drogues

What thirst of lofty flight that metal eagles seeks
their beaks in quest of airy nectar from the nipple pyramid of sibling wings.
Defiance pearls worn by aviators in the gauged dreams,
testing the axiom about what going up must come down.
An anchor for gossamer convictions left streaking in the air,
frail tether to its reality dangling on an tanker umbilical cord.

In another faces and form it is a canopy to deter their return to earth.
for the capsule pilots into space,
which even in their descent, in part like their other brethren flyers
still try small ways to make Newton less than a prophet on gravity.

The imagery of this piece is very well done. I like the style; It does seem to be formated a bit odd but I suppose you had to do it that way due to line requirements here. Overall, a very well written piece and much enjoyed. Excellent

Interesting look at mid-air refueling for aircraft. Military craft would never to complete long flight mission without refueling. The flow and image is clear and reader watches from the sideline as fuel is shared. Great ending
