deciding goals they had to make
two left on journey of their take
to make haste in their own thought’s way.
Deciding goals they had to make
the eleven that now remained
their hearts set on the year's contain
with group dynamics in their wake.
Two left on journey of their take
a piece of heart from each of us
steadfast together on their bus
the rest made way without a break.
To make haste in their own thought’s way
they learnt to play the group’s own game
advanced through theory which they tamed
becoming skilled as they all played.
Author notes
Morning of 21 November 2008:
My postgraduates will end their year's academic journey today. They have been with me for the past year. Each Friday we met for the full day to learn and sometimes have fun. We will have a 'Year-end functioning' this evening for the 'Class of 2008'. Should you want to drop a message - I would appreciate this, and assure they receive these. They were a wonderful bunch a hard-working students - I will miss each of them in the same way as when one's children 'fly from the nest'.
22 November 2008:
We had a wonderful evening together, with much thought that each will be going their way. This has been a year to remember and to cherish in our hearts for the years to come. During a year such as this, we get to know the depth of character, the sadness and also the humours. I introduce something of each to you of the wonderful eleven who journeyed with me:
Roger, the happy loud mouth of the class,
can take you on a journey of words
so beautifully that one forgives the noise!
Ludwe, our priest in arms; first ventured
as if we would have to settle down to pray,
but emerged into a great facilitator.
Laverne, the one that developed with might,
each Friday contact in her own right -
she'll be an asset to the NMMU Business School.
Deanne for others, and Dee to us -
ths short and sweet lady so young
brought us a blessing like none.
Lesley the teacher, wanting so badly
an academic to be; she has whit
and drive tackling life others would admire.
Nicky, the one we can trust and enjoy -
a heart of gold and drive for a win;
her zest - like leaps and bounds.
Monwabisi, with capabilities
to foster growth in others;
he has grown like an only son.
Sekere, the pied-pipers dream!
Taking us in with that wonderful smile;
his niche will be his future next year.
Steven, with solid supportive style,
a wonderful trustworthy one -
a silent leader that nutures us all.
Pamela our RPL and PoE,
has all the competencies to show
how things can be done in the industry!
and then, Hhlekani
Hhlekani's the one who sees a smile in things,
even when experiencing stressful times -
a heart for those who are in difficult times.
To you my students of 2008
with pride I introduce you
through AP to the world
those that will read this
will truly know
that you have crept
right into my heart.
We could aim to continue
our contact next year,
but we should think of it
in this ‘interdependent’ way
that it would be selfish
if we hold back
on our gains in the spaces
where we ought to tread.
A blessing to each of you.

As a teacher I can relate to the sense of purpose, accomplishment and wistfulness that happens as the school year ends. With a group as intimate as this you can learn each other's strengths and weaknesses, giving special attention to those areas most in need. Your students were fortunate to have such a caring mentor. and I wish them joy as they settle into their new careers. Peace, Liz

BEAUTIFUL POEM
Dear Frans,
I can sense how proud you are of these fine students. You have guided and taught them well. You are such a wonderful example for them to follow as they set out and search for their dreams. I know they will never forget the love and kindness you felt in your heart for them and how you worked to instill the values that are important in life along with the knowledge they will use to continue following their dreams. Thank you for sharing this wonderful part of your life with your friends here at allpoetry.
May God Bless them in all they do and may they all find their dreams some day. And God bless you too Frans for being you. You are a blessing in so many lives. You touch so many and they pass that love and kindness on so it is never ending. *hug * Sandy
They came to learn
They listened well
Now they all hear
The toll of the bell
It tolls for those
Who did their best
Now it is time to
Follow life's quest
You all bid farewell
With love in your hearts
The tears are of joy
As their journey starts

Exposed to greatness
as espoused by the teacher,
each student leaves the flock

Great poetry.
I have always been impressed with the person who aspires to be a scholar. Here eleven of you have achieved and reap the success you deserve from your year’s work. This poem is a dedication to that.
When we first complete a study, sometimes we do not see the immediate benefit of our work. But, experience teaches me that you will see that benefit later, if not now. It takes time for the arrow to hit its target.
Congratulations to you and all the best for the future. Dominus Vobiscum.

You have accomplished a fine goal and will always remember what you did with pride.
Thank you for setting an example of hard work and spirit.

Privileged Par Perfection!
If you will forgive me this Myra twist in English -- I shall translate this as: Bevoorreg Bowe Benede! THIS is how I feel to be part of this group -- for I am! For not only is Frans the most versatile, industrious, focused and endopathic mentor I know of, but that applies to each and every one in this group! Truly a dynamic unit of excellence.
Beloved Professor and Students: I wish you a purposeful realization of dreams and the joy and beauty of holding stars on the palms of your hands, in sharing our Creator's Wonderment to all treading your path. Soli Deo Gloria!
Thank you for all the excitement and happiness you shared with me, too. I shall never forget you.
May God bless you and keep you, now and always.
Love
Myra

To get a grasp on the workings of life requires hard work. Everyone who has contributed to the positive advancement of human existence has committed himself / herself to making some type of effort. At the end of the journey may await praise or denial and sometimes miraculous finds, but in any case talent and persistence have been applied. Throughout history these properties have allowed mankind to progress. Being part of such a process is both a privilege and responsibility. I wish you and your groups of postgraduates a great and meaningful evening at the conclusion of the prelude of being a bachelor.

Wonderful, Frans! And congratulations to you and your students. I so understand how you feel and the "empty nest feeling". I remember when I finished my studies that I too felt that way, but I think much more so the lecturer and guide.
Having been in the academic world myself I can share in you joy and theirs on a task well-accomplished and goals achieved. May the wind be at their backs and may they apply their acquired knowledge and skills to the best of their abilities.
May you all soar to new heights!
~ Nicolette

Future Fullfillment!
Postgraduate studies with Professors Frans? Now that couldn't have been anything other than sheer joyful fun! I'm sure those eleven students who spent all those Fridays with you benefited greatly & will go on to be wonderful therapists! Helping people with their emotional needs can be very challenging, but also very rewarding. Way to go Papa Eagle! You've made those Eaglets ready to soar!
