We Say Goodbye

    *******************

letting go...

                  holding on...

its kind of like the morning's dawn

the moon...

                  the stars...

there's nothing left when light is gone

so we stare into the sun
there's nothing left we havent done

we've cried and bled and prayed
and then we burn our eyes away

its the kind of light that does not cure
you and I and everyday endures

Its kind of like dying i guess,
only you have to live through it.

omgosh, when did you write this???? dude, this was like finding 10 bucks in the pocket of my jeans!!!

the just drips pain and heartache. i seriously love all of this, especially the ending. the last two stanzas were awesome, and the final stanza was the perfect ending. it was so brave and beautiful, because instead of giving up, your continuing on, though you have nothing to live for. the beginning was good too, i like this stanza.

"we've cried and bled and prayed
and then we burn our eyes away"

this just about broke my heart. it was so sad, and so beautiful. and it was so true, because when your heartbroken, thats exactly what you feel like. you feel like crying, and bleeding (just a figure of speech ), and praying, and your eyes are burned away, because you can never look on another person without seeing that one person you love.

    this was magnificent.

Wow it's like one of those true love stories that only happen in movies. . .only this one is a really good movie.

It's so delicate, and neverendingly strong at the same time

One of those pains that are so unbelievably hard to bare yet you wouldn't wish it gone completely either

or that's how I am seeing it

I like the way you used the spacing in your poem it adds to it a lot

very nice quote. . .I've found myself reading it a whole bunch of times before.

There is a lot more to you than you often let on and I somehow knew it before reading your poems but getting to actually see it here in your poems is amazing.

wow... the thing with your poems is that there is so much depth to each line... like a meaning that is separate from the rest of the poem, yet flows right into the next line... it's weird how that works.

    anyway.. to the poem

letting go, holding on... the dawn lets go of the night and holds the day before us so we can see that light is still there... yet the reminder of day also reminds us that night will come...
and what is night without the stars and moon??? nothing. WOW.. loved those first 4 lines... esp the 'morning's dawn' ... the negative possession phrase.

the last lines were intense... the looking into the sun knowing what would happen... is it that we are blinded to what awaits us? or is it simply that we cannot bear to say goodbye to what we try to hold on to?

either way, there isn't a cure to the pain felt.

and i think that saying goodbye to someone you love is more painful than death.... something you have to live through, but really cant without that someone there...
and a reason to love One who always is.

i could say more.. and just may come back and do that... i'll have to blame my illness for my rambling.
