Distressed? Not me.
I'm as in control as I could be.
I've spent my entire life alone,
I don't need that knight in shining armor.
The closer I get to the metal plates,
the more I see they're tarnished.
Keep your wishful thinking.
I'll fight my own dragons.
And yet, I can't help but wonder
what true love is like. . . .
Author notes
Damozel: alternate spelling of damosel or damsel. I like this, 'cause it's kinda where I am in life right now.

I'm really impressed with this piece.
"Keep your wishful thinking.
I'll fight my own dragons."
That verse is brilliant =)

Awwww...this is bittersweet. It makes one think, which I enjoy! Vivid description was amazing. Great job!

I feel you on this piece too very well. It seems we start of waiting for Mr. Right so to speak and come to find we are most comfortable in ourselves and enjoy it. No one to infringe upon our peace. Very nicely done here.
