He sits in the shadows,
where no one can see.
Walk right through him,
only a cool chill will be.
He plays with your mind,
from the shadows of time.
He holds you tight,
when life feels like a crime.
He wipes your tears,
but you won't see.
He will be with you,
but only a cool chill will be.
He is a shadow,
following you around.
Picking you up,
when you hit the ground.
He drifts through the winds,
watching your life go by,
so he may be there,
when life feels like a crime.
Into the shadows,
he passed forever.
Never to return in flesh,
but always there,
with you, together.

This poem is dedicated to my father. I was going to write it anyhow, but this contest seemed to match nicely. He passed a few months ago. Although I still feel the pain, I know he is always around, watching me and guiding me through life.

They are, but yours is easier to relate too for the younger viewers,(teens, young adults, pre-teens, so on). And it is deep, and powerful, and makes you think about all of it twice (thats a good thing). Also it makes the viewers, and me, and to read more.
