Escaping into my mind
The words of love reflected
What man knows, in time
Can’t always be protected.
Like Apollo taking flight,
With the birds in the sky
Trying to capture the light,
Silencing that ancient cry.
Waking up to the dawn of a new day
A world unknown, a silent grace,
Wondering if we all could stay
In this magical, happy lucid place.
Joy cleanses my soul
Through the despair of my past,
Which purifies and makes me whole
Faith, I am free at last.
Faces, overcome with laughter
Hid the unspoken pain,
Relieves a moment hereafter
Of the love my heart sought to gain.
Slowly I watched you fade,
My heart did not wilt
Knowing the love we made
And the eternal memories we built.
