the Other Side of Love

THIS PLACE CALLED THE OTHER SIDE OF LOVE.

In this place called the other side of love
The sun never rises above the clouds.
The hurt and the hunger numbs and frustrates
Every nerve in your body and every cell in your brain.

One day the rain will stop.
That’s what everybody says.
One day you will love again.
That’s what everybody hopes.
But now I can’t taste bitter and I can’t taste sweet.
I can only taste waste and I can only taste want.

Men don’t cry!
They just walk off alone and drown somewhere
In this place called the other side of love.

The tide never comes in to wash away the debris.
The sea-shore stretches to some distant horizon
And all you can see are the endless hours and endless days.

The hurt and the hunger numbs and frustrates
Every kiss on your lips and every kind word on your tongue
One day the rain will stop.
That’s what everybody says.
One day you’ll love again.
That’s what everybody hopes.
But now I can’t see sunlight and I can’t see Spring.
I can only see shadows and the silence tomorrow brings.

I took the ring off my finger; I pulled the thorn from my heart
And started from zero.
In this place called the other side of love.

ou be surprise sometimes, but you have to keep your heart open and not close it up.

Nicely done. I can see you have your own style. I enjoyed it. In particular I liked the lines:

    Men don’t cry!
They just walk off alone and drown somewhere
In this place called the other side of love.
