WHAT KIND OF MAN ARE YOU?

Action man is busy again.
Building bricks and cutting wood.
Always useful that’s action man.
Always there when you need him.
I’m no action man.

Lover man is wooing again.
Turning on the charm.
Breaking some girl’s heart,
Always spick and span and smart.
I’m no lover man.

Banker man is counting again.
Counting his precious money.
All those lovely crisp brand new bank notes.
Running them through his fingers.
I’m no banker man.

Worried man is worrying again.
About the latest crisis to hit his life.
Always living a disaster seeing the down side of things.
I’m no worried man.

What kind of man am I?
A Jokerman, a Sinnerman, a Bluesman, a Jazzman.
An old man, a young man. A man like you
With faults and weaknesses.
A simple man with a simple heart
Who needs love to carry on.



So what’s all this noise?
You’re keeping the children awake with your poems and your blues songs.
Can’t you just go and watch T.V. like everyone else!
I went and watched T.V. and left Jokerman and Action man to get on with things.

But when I went to bed
My wife asked me what kind of man I was.
It’s for a quiz in some magazine.
Romantic? Yes. Cynical? Yes.
Truthful? Yes. Dishonest? Yes.
You can’t say yes to every question.
Ok then just write normal.
As if that means anything.
